Dr. Backman Named Allergy Chief at Bridgeport Hospital

BpHosp2 Dr. Backman has been named Chief of Allergy at Bridgeport Hospital. Dr. Backman, who is board certified in Adult and Pediatric Allergy and Immunology, received his medical degree from Cornell University Medical College. He completed his residency at the University of Chicago Hospitals, and fellowship in Adult and Pediatric Allergy and Immunology at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago.  

Bridgeport Hospital is the most comprehensive hospital in Fairfield County with 425 licensed beds, 2,600 employees, 530 physicians representing 70 subspecialties, 220 medical/surgical residents and fellows in programs affiliated with Yale University School of Medicine.
